Electrical and Instrumentation (E/I) Mechanic

Position Overview:
A skilled and experienced Electrical and Instrumentation (E/I) Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and functionality of electrical and instrumentation systems, contributing to the overall efficiency of our production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment in compliance with safety and industry standards.

Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability of critical systems.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
-
Diagnose and rectify electrical and instrumentation issues efficiently to minimize downtime.

Collaborate with production and engineering personnel to address and resolve complex technical problems.
Calibration and Testing:
-
Perform calibration and testing of instrumentation devices to ensure accurate and consistent measurements.

Utilize specialized tools and equipment to verify the functionality of electrical components.
Documentation:
-
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment upgrades.

Contribute to the development and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
Safety and Compliance:
-
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of safety among team members.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing electrical and instrumentation systems.
Collaboration:
-
Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to optimize processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel to coordinate and prioritize tasks.
Qualifications (General):
-
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification in electrical or
-
instrumentation field is preferred.
-
Proven experience as an E/I Mechanic in an industrial setting, preferably in chemical
-
manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
-
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
-
Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to electrical work.
-
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications for Electrical:
E - Working with high voltage equipment and basic understanding of 3 phase power (required)
E - Basic understanding of local disconnects, breaker panels, and MCC buckets.
E - Replaces or installs electric motors by using hand and power tools.
E - Repairs control panels by replacing switches, e-stops buttons and other minor repairs.
E - Insulation resistance testing a motor.
E - Install conduit and wiring.
E - Knowledge of how to assess and correct rotation of a 3-phase motor.
E - Determines the proper wire size resistance load by using formulas such as "Ohm's Law" to calculate the proper sizing for the job.
Qualifications for Instrumentation
I - Select and use operational, or diagnostic techniques or test equipment to assess
electromechanical circuits, equipment, processes, systems, or subsystems. (required)
I - Knowledge of how to assess variable speed drives.
I - Troubleshooting using DCS I/O, current and voltage for instrumentation.
I - Troubleshooting loop sheets
I - Show the proper knowledge base with test equipment, i.e., which unit should be used on
different applications, troubleshooting and calibration.
I - Read blueprints, loop sheets, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
I - Troubleshoot field instrumentation, transmitters and control valves.
Physical Requirements:

The position may require lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.

Must be willing to work in partially non-climate controlled conditions

Must be able to lift and carry 30-60 lbs. as needed.
